Golf Finishes in 11th Place at Pat Lesser Invitational

SEATTLE – In its fourth tournament of the Fall, the Grand Canyon women's golf team teed off at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational. After in second-to-last place after the first round, the Antelopes turned it around in the final two rounds to finish in 11th place shooting +81 as a team.

The Lopes were led by Samantha Barker finishing in 25th place, shooting +15 for the tournament. Barker had a solid to start with a round of 76 in the opening round and after a tough second round, Barker finished strong with her lowest round of the tournament shooting a 75.

This was the first time this Fall GCU was led by Barker and behind Barker was Charatta Thongbai finishing in 36th place, shooting +18 in the invitational. Thongbai's lowest round of the tournament came in the second round at 75.

GCU finished in a tie with WAC member Utah Valley for 11th place in the tournament and of the four teams from the WAC competing in the tournament, GCU finished in a tie for second place. Taking home first place in the tournament was Washington, shooting +1.Â
