TACOMA, Wash. – Grand Canyon concluded its September action with its third of five scheduled fall tournaments, tying for eighth place out of 15 teams Tuesday in the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational at Tacoma Country Club.

- GCU totaled a 23-over-par score, tying for eighth with UC Riverside. The Lopes shot 12 over in Tuesday's final round on a day that saw nine teams shoot 10 over or more.
- Lopes freshman Alexis Vakasiuola had her best tournament of the season, going 1 over with 38 pars, which was the fourth most in the 84-player field. The San Tan Valley, Arizona, native shot 1 under Tuesday with three birdies.
- GCU junior Jess Haines shot 5 over and tied for 20th, putting two Lopes in the top 20. Haines had six birdies for the tournament and was 3 over after 36 holes.
GCU's day started between holes 5-9 with birdies from Vakasiuola and sophomore
Allie Justiz. Vakasiuola quickly rebounded from any mistake, rattling off four straight pars and a birdie after a bogey on No. 10 and a par-birdie tandemn after a bogey on No. 16.
Haines had the best nine-hole score for the team, a 1-under back nine with two birdies. Justiz finished tied for 30th (7 over), followed by junior
Lena Tremouille (12 over, tied for 46th) and freshman
Rosie Maguire (13 over, tied for 49th). Freshman
Honor Johnson tied for 53rd at 14 over as an individual entry.
GCU takes three weeks off before heading to Hawaii for the Rainbow Wahine Invitational on Oct. 20-22 in Kauai.
