MARICOPA, Ariz. – Grand Canyon's final regular-season round commenced Wednesday at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club, located 45 minutes south of GCU's campus in Maricopa. LEADERBOARD
GCU tied for fourth at 2 over with fellow Mountain West team UNLV. Seven Mountain West programs competed in Maricopa, serving as a prelude to the conference's ultimate test in Rancho Mirage, California, on April 21-23.
No. 22 Iowa State won the tournament at 26 under, followed by Sacramento State and BYU in a tie for second at 3 under. The Lopes' 6-under final round was third best in the 20-team field, trailing only the Cyclones and Hornets.

"I'm proud of the effort this week and especially in today's final round," GCU head coach
Brent Nicoson said. "Alexis and Jess have been strong all spring, and they led us again this week with very solid play. We made a lot of birdies this week and added in a lot of solid pars to help our team score, which is a good sign as we head to the conference championship in a couple of weeks."
Lopes freshman
Honor Johnson jumped 21 spots to 63rd after a 2-under final round. Johnson had four birdies for her day with a 3-under back nine. Junior teammate
