For the third time this season, Arizona native
Alexis Vakasiuola of Grand Canyon has won the Mountain West Golfer and Freshman of the Week honors.

Vakasiuola was named MW Co-Golfer and Freshman of the Week with Wyoming's Kiley Reisner also being recognized. The Lopes' Combs High School alumnus adds to her award list, also earning both recognitions on Feb. 19 and 26.
Vakasiuola tied for fourth at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic in Maricopa this week, carding a 9-under-par total with a scoreline of 71/69/67 at the par-72 Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.
She totaled 13 birdies, eighth most among the 116-player field, and placed among the top five in par-4 and par-5 scoring. Her third round was bogey free, tallying five birdies and 13 pars for her sixth sub-70 round over her last 12 played.
The Lopes will prep for the Mountain West Championship in Rancho Mirage, California, on April 21-23. The winner of that tournament will earn the conference's automatic bid to an NCAA Championship regional.
