Grand Canyon begins its second tournament of the season at the historic Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Washington, on Monday and Tuesday.
Â
GCU is coming off a fifth-place finish at the Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the first tournament under new head coach
Brent Nicoson. Four of the Lopes' starting five of that tournament will compete in Washington, including graduate
Calynne Rosholt, senoir Alyzzah Vakasioula, senior
Anci Dy and sophomore
Brenna Preap. Sophomore
Lena Tremouille will make her season debut, while classmate
Jess Haines will compete as an individual.
Â
"This is a great opportunity for our team," Nicoson said. "Chambers Bay is a beautiful place and a very tough golf course. We must come ready to play as the field is very good. This team continues to become more comfortable with each other as we build the culture, and we simply want to be better this week than we were in New Mexico last week. We have high expectations. That will never change."
Â
The following field includes 16 teams with co-hosts Washington and Seattle U:
