Both Grand Canyon tennis teams were well represented in the weekly WAC awards earning three of the four honors.

Santa Strombacha were both named WAC Singles Player of the Week while fifth-year duo
Autum Prudhomme and
Fabienne Schmidt were named WAC Doubles Players of the Week.
Grant picked up two straight wins for the men over the weekend in a pair of close team losses. In a neutral site match against Creighton, Grant Creighton's Matthew Lanahan after despite dropping the first set winning 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (8-6), 7-5. The next day against host Air Force Grant won 6-4, 6-1 against the Falcons' Nick Vroman.
The women swept the WAC weekly awards after a strong showing at the CSUF Spring Invitational, a non-dual match event. In singles Strombacha went 3-0 in her matches. On the first day, the GCU sophomore defeated Cal State Fullerton's Juliette Daries 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. The final two days were straight set wins for Strombacha over Jessica Tsukiji from UC Irvine 6-2, 6-3 and a 6-2, 6-3 win over San Jose State's Oleksandra Andrieieva.
In doubles the Lopes also put in a strong result with Prudhomme and Schmidt going 2-1 over the weekend. After dropping the first match of the event, the GCU duo defeated Cal State Fullerton's Natalie Duffy and Mariia Nikitash with a 6-1 win and took down UCI's Emily Fowler and Mia Totah 6-2.
The women will be off till next week while the men are back in action this weekend with matches at BYU on Jan. 28 and Idaho State on Jan. 30.
