Grand Canyon rallies for comeback win, stays perfect at home

Jankoski completes comeback for Lopes in a close tiebreaker match.
The Lopes secured a 4-3 victory over the Lobos on Sunday as they extended their win streak to 14 at GCU Tennis Facility.
In doubles play the Lopes fell on Courts 1 and 3, giving the doubles point to New Mexico.
Junior Charlie Pade was the first to give the Lopes some momentum getting his win on Court 6. With that win that brings the Australian to 10-0 on the season in singles play.
Tyler Waddock of New Mexico defeated junior Brice Patoux on Court 5, giving Patoux only his third loss of the season and putting the Lobos up 2-1.
New Mexico and GCU continued to trade blows as sophomore Tristan Berard secured another point winning 6-3, 6-4 for the Lopes to make it 2-2. After a loss on Court 3, New Mexico was within one point of clinching the win.
Sophomore Andreas Loizas came out and got the match tying point, defeating Philip Bosin 7-6, 6-2.
With the score tied 3-3 the match went over to Court 4, where GCU sophomore Daniel Jankoski is undefeated this season.
After losing 7-5 in the first set, Daniel came back to take the last two securing the victory for the Lopes in a tiebreaker in the third set.
"During the tiebreaker I was just telling myself that all I need is seven points and I win, the boys all got me through it" said Jankoski when asked about what was going through his mind in that third set.
"The main thing I have been focusing on is my mental game and making sure that I am staying positive." Said Jankoski.
The Lopes look to stay undefeated on their home courts this week as they play Air Force at 12 p.m. and Arizona Christian at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
