SAN DIEGO - No. 69 Grand Canyon continued its strong late-season form Saturday with a 4-1 road win over San Diego State at the Aztec Tennis Center, opening the match by claiming the doubles point before winning three of the first four completed singles courts.

Tristan Berard and
Andreas Loizas opened the scoring securing the win 6-2 before junior
Brice Patoux and sophomore
Daniel Jankoski clinched the doubles point 6-4.

With the pair of doubles wins, both duos are at 11 doubles wins on the season.

In singles, Patoux doubled the GCU lead with a dominant 6-1, 6-2 victory on Court 5, and junior
Charlie Pade quickly made it 3-0 with a 6-1, 6-4 win on Court 6.

This would be Patoux's 17th single win of the year while Pade has just lost one singles match holding an impressive 12-1 record.

After SDSU answered at No. 2 singles, Loizas delivered the clinching point in comeback fashion on Court 3, rallying from a first-set loss for a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win to seal the 4-1 team victory.

The win puts the Lopes at 3-3 as they sit in the top 5 in the Mountain West Conference. GCU heads to Reno, Nevada to take on the Wolf pack as they try to gain a higher seed for the Mountain West Conference Championships.
