Strong fall season continues for GCU leader
Final results
LAKEWOOD, Wash. – The Grand Canyon women's golf team finished the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational in seventh place on Tuesday at Tacoma Country and Golf Club with Lopes junior Siripatsorn Patchana tying for 10th place individually.
GCU had it going early, remaining in second place through nine holes and closing the gap on eventual champion Gonzaga. The Lopes fell back on the final nine holes and finished with a total of 894 (30 over par) to be seventh among 18 teams.
Patchana continued her strong play this fall with her second top-10 finish in the team's two stroke-play tournaments. Patchana fired rounds of 72, 71 and 76 to shoot 3 over par for the tournament and tie for 10th place with a birdie on her final hole.
Lopes freshman Carmen Belmonte, who was in second place through two rounds, fell back to finish in a tie for 24th place (223).
GCU sophomore Payton Fehringer (225) tied for 30th place, while senior Carolina Sandstrom (231) finished in a tie for 57th place. Junior Alexis Jones (237) finished in a tie for 84th place.
Gonzaga won the tournament as the only team under par with an 860 total. Seattle U (873) finished second, followed by Nevada (880) and CSU Fullerton (884).

GCU was led by Belmonte, who fired a pair of under-par rounds of 70 and 71 to end Monday at 3 under par. She trailed leader Quynn Duong of Gonzaga by three shots.
Patchana also had a strong day for the Lopes to tied for sixth place at 1 under par.
Fehringer was in a tie for 36th place (151), while Sandstrom (152) was in a tie for 43rd place and Jones, a junior transfer from Oakland, was in a tie for 84th place (159).
