The Grand Canyon University women's golf team finished third in the Red Rocks Invitational in Sedona, Ariz. The tournament was hosted by Northern Arizona at the Oak Creek Golf Course. They tallied a 30-over 606, four strokes behind the second place team.
Northern Arizona won the event with a 21-over 597 while Cal Poly finished 26-over 602 to round out the top-three.
Senior
Charlotte Jaengkit tied for first place in the field of 130 golfers. She shot an even-144 in the two-day event, tying with Sophie Peters from Omaha. This marked her sixth top-10 placement of the season. She finished with a three-over 75 for the second round.
The next top finishers for the Lopes were senior
Kelcey Tate and freshman
Samantha Barker who each tied for 28
th with a 9-over 153. Barker tallied a three-over 75 for the second round, a three stroke improvement from her opening round.
Grand Canyon will travel next to St. George, Utah where they will compete in the Southern Utah Thunderbird Invitational Mar. 12-13. A full recap of the event will be available at
