The Grand Canyon University women’s golf team posted a second-round best 21-over 309 to win the Grand Canyon Women’s Invitational at the Wigwam Golf Resort's Gold Course in Litchfield Park, Ariz. The Antelopes shot a 43-over 619 in the two round tournament to post a nine-stroke victory over St. Edwards, who was in first place following yesterday's first round.
St. Edward's finished the tournament with a 52-over 628, while Northeastern St. claimed third with a two-round total of 62-over 638.
Eryn Olson posted an identical second round score of two-over 74 to win the individual title. Olson finished with a tournament-best seven birdies and shot even on Par 3 holes, also a tops among individual competitors.
Charlotte Jaengkit and
Ali Thompson tied for 11th with a 12-over 156.
Emily Kaye finished in a tie for 24
th place and
Kelcey Tate tied for 30
th.
The Grand Canyon ‘B’ team finished seventh and was led by
Julia Shin's 15th-place finish at 14-over 158.
GCU will next be in action when they travel to Rohnert, Calif., for the Sonoma State Invitational hosted by Sonoma State at the Foxtail North on April 8-9.
