The Grand Canyon University women’s golf team is now ranked sixth in Division II according to the latest Golfstat head-to-head rankings and junior Brittany Penny (Peoria, AZ/Centennial, Winthrop University) is 10th individually.
With a second place finish at this week’s GCU Invite, the ‘Lopes finished ahead of third ranked Tarleton State University and fifth ranked Western Washington University, jumping them from eighth to sixth.
Also moving ahead in the rankings was junior Penny, who is now ranked 10th in the nation. This is her first appearance in the top 10, previously she was ranked 13th overall. Penny tied for seventh at the GCU Invite and shot a tournament low round score, 71. She has finished in the top 10 in eight of 10 contests played this season.

The ‘Lopes head to Grandbury, Texas this weekend for the No. 3 Tarleton State’s Coca-Cola Collegiate Tournament, April 11-12.
