SEDONA, Ariz. -- In a tournament with 16 Division I schools, Grand Canyon University is 12th after the first day of the Red Rocks Invitational at Oak Creek Country Club Saturday.
GCU has a one-round total of 44-over-par 332. Leading the way for the 'Lopes is senior Jennifer Lutz (Mesa, Ariz./Mesa/Mesa CC), with a 9-over-par 81. Jacqueline Sneddon (Meigle, Scotland/Madras College/Elmwood College) shot an 83 and is tied for 44th.
Junior Brittany Anderson (Goodyear, Ariz./Estrella Foothills) and freshman Alexandra Malmsjo (Stockholm, Sweden/Saltsjobaden) are tied for 55th each with a first-round total of 84. Junior Georgina Dunn (Peterborough, England/King's School/New Mexico State) shot an 85 and is tied for 63rd.
Cal Poly leads the event with a 19-over-par 307.
Cal Poly's Kristin Locke and Northern Arizona's Aleah Kim lead the event with rounds of 3-over-par 75.
