FRESNO, Calif. – The Grand Canyon women's golf team wrapped up the final day at the Fresno State Classic and like the first round, the Lopes once shot a round of 319 as a team, putting them in 14th place for the tournament.The Lopes were led by
Deanna Salvatori, posting the lowest score from GCU.
Salvatori and
Amy Ruelas were the only two players to crack the top-50 in individual scores. Salvatori improved from her first round from shooting a 78 the first day and on the final day Salvatori would shoot a 76, putting her in 47th place for the tournament. Ruelas improved on the final day by three strokes, shooting 76 for the second round, putting her in a tie for 50th place.
Julia Shin finished the tournament in a tie for 75th place, after shooting 79 on the first day and closed out with an 86 while
Kylie Fong recorded an 85 and an 81 to finish in a tie for 78th place. The final member that made the trip was
Charatta Thongbai, shooting an 83 and 86 to put her in 81st place.
The Lopes will compete in one more tournament in the month of March when they travel to Florida to participate in the Bearcats Springs Classic. The tournament is hosted by Cincinnati and will take place from March 25 through March 27 at the El Champeon Golf Course.
