PHOENIX – The Grand Canyon women's golf team is set for its first tournament of the Fall season and it will begin in Springville, Utah at the Hobble Creek Invitational. This will be the first of five tournaments the Antelopes will compete in during the Fall.

GCU is one of four WAC teams that will compete in the tournament, joining Texas Rio Grande Valley, New Mexico State and the host, Utah Valley. The 54-hole tournament will begin on Sept. 14 playing 36 holes the first day followed up by 18 holes on the final day. This will be head coach Lauren Giesecke's first tournament as GCU's head coach and her first lineup of the season is Deanna Salvatori, Amy Ruelas, Samantha Barker, Charatta Thongbai and Kylie Fong. This will not only be the first tournament for Giesecke at GCU but will be the first time Fong and Thongbai will represent the Lopes.

It will be a good test for Lopes as they face the defending WAC champions, New Mexico State, the defending Big Sky champs, Northern Arizona. Seven schools in the Big Sky Conference will compete in the two-day tournament.Â
