Antelopes lacrosse debuts with heroic loss

Sure the Antelopes lost their first lacrosse game in school history, 18-8 to the University of Arizona's club team Saturday night, but they did it with style. And they have Ryan Jackson to thank for that.
Jackson, a defenseman from Tucson Sahuaro High, scored a 99-yard goal in the third period when Arizona went to a 10-man ride. Jackson's shot short-hopped the Wildcats goalie and bounced over him into the net.
"It was the most ridiculous goal I've ever been a part of," Grand Canyon coach Adam Marshall said. "It was incredible. It was pandomonium. I must have jumped 30 inches in the air. I think I hit the 30-inch vertical that I've always been dreaming about."
