After jumping out to a 7-1 lead after the first quarter and 10-2 margin at the half, No. 24 Grand Canyon hung on to a 15-12 victory over Minnesota at Reach 11 Sports Complex Monday.
Drew Dziadyk had six goals and three assists. Carson Barton, who was the MCLA Division I Player of the Week last week and is averaging 6.71 points per game, had a goal and five assists. Cody Wagner had a pair of goals, while Ron Hamwey, Chris McWilliams, Kyle Mason and Freddie Martori all scored. Luciano DeDonatis had three assists and Brandon Murphy also had one assist.
AJ Wilkerson had 14 saves and the Antelopes won 17 of 25 faceoffs.
GCU (5-3) will play host to Utah, on campus, Friday at 3:30 p.m.
