GCU's lacrosse team reached the national tournament in their first year at the Division I level.
Antelopes Fall To BYU in MCLA Tournament

Grand Canyon lost 17-8 to BYU in the first round of the 2013 Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association Division I National Championships in Greenville, S.C., Monday.
Carson Barton had four of GCU’s eight goals, along with a pair of assists.
GCU (8-6), the tournaments No. 13 seed, lost to the fourth-seeded Cougars, 13-12 in the regular season. On Monday, GCU trailed 4-1 after the first period, 6-2 at the half and 14-4 heading into the final quarter.
Dean Fairall had two goals and two assists. Drew Dziadyk and Kyle Mason had one goal each. Goalkeeper Jordan Johnson had 17 saves, while the GCU group of Ron Hamwey, Kris Holland and Dominique Turner went 9-for-24 on faceoffs.
“First, We want to thank everyone at GCU for their support,” said GCU coach Manny Rapkin. “It was an amazing year and we are all sad that it ended the way it did today.
“We will be fine tomorrow and guys are already talking about how they can't wait to get back to school in the fall. Our guys played with a lot of personal pride and a lot of pride for GCU. We had 12 freshmen and 12 sophomores play important roles in today's game. It takes time to build a championship team but we are definitely headed in that direction.”
BYU will take on12th-seeded Oregon in the quarterfinals.
