No. 24 Grand Canyon battled No. 2 Brigham Young all night, but the Antelopes fell one goal short of the upset with a 13-12 loss to the Cougars at GCU Thursday.
The teams were tied at the half (6-6) and the Antelopes trailed just 11-9 heading into the final period.
Carson Barton had five goals and two assists. Chris McWilliams had a pair of goals and Drew Dziadyk had a goal and two assists. Jason Klein, Kyle Mason, Dakota Garant and Nick Castelli all added a goal. Geoff Barnes and Sackett Keesen each had an assist. AJ Wilkerson had nine saves.
GCU went 15-for-25 on faceoffs.
