Geoff Barnes scored 3:10 into overtime to complete Grand Canyon’s comeback win over No. 25 Davenport Saturday at Reach 11 Sports Complex.
GCU (4-3), ranked No. 24 in the NIKE Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association Top 25 poll, trailed 14-6 early in the fourth period before converting eight straight faceoffs into eight goals to force overtime.
Ron Hamwey won eight straight faceoffs. Carson Barton had five goals and two assists, while Drew Dziadyk had two goals and two assists. Chris McWilliams had three goals. Tim Mahaney, Dakota Garant, Jason Klein and Cody Wagner each added goals. Kyle Mason had two assists and Barnes had one.
AJ Wilkerson had 15 saves.
GCU will play host to Minnesota 8 p.m. Monday at Reach 11 Sports Complex.
