Post-Graduation Goals: I want to become a firefighter/paramedic with a department located in Arizona.
Why did you choose GCU? I chose GCU because I had toured a lot of other campuses, but nothing compared to the way GCU campus felt. When I came on my discover trip and experienced my first men’s basketball game, I knew this was the place I wanted to be. When I had also discovered that GCU had such a great cheer team, with the family values they do, it was something I really wanted to be a part of. It’s very welcoming and supportive and I wanted to be around that type of atmosphere for my college experience.
When you are not cheering, where can you be found? You can find me hanging out with my friends or at the movies.
Who is the most influential person in your life? The most influential person is my life is my mom. She is by far the most hardworking and selfless people I have ever known. She’s guided me to exactly where I am today, and I couldn’t have accomplished as much as I have in life, so far, without her support and encouragement. She always knows the words I need to hear, the answers to all my questions and I couldn’t be more grateful for her.
What is one piece of advice you would give someone who dreams of becoming a GCU cheerleader? My best advice would be to attend as many clinics as possible. I found these very helpful to familiarize myself with the team, coaches, and game day material needed for tryouts. It allows you to get some experience with the team with stunting and can ask any questions you may have before tryouts.
Fun Fact: I marched in the 2014 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York.
Favorite Bible Verse or Quote: “When my anxious inner thoughts become overwhelming your comfort encourages me” Psalm 94:19
