- Boasts one of GCU's best player development stories, going from a lightly-used freshman with six at bats to an All-WAC performer and top-100 MLB Draft prospect.
- Named a first-team All-WAC selection as an outfielder.
- Was named an Academic All-American for the combo of a 3.92 GPA and significant on-field success.
- Earned second-team All-West Region honors.
- Alongside teammate Jacob Wilson, landed on the Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List for the top player in college baseball.
- One of three Lopes to be invited to the MLB Draft Combine and posted the fastest 30-yard dash time at 3.523.

- Father, Homer, played seven MLB seasons (1997-04) for the Yankees, Blue Jays and Marlins. Played 409 games and hit .285 with 363 hits and 115 RBIs. Bush Jr. was 2 1/2 years old when Bush Sr. played his 409th and final MLB game in a return to the Yankees, giving the son better photos with greats Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez.
- Only held D-I offer from New Mexico before former GCU head coach Andy Stankiewicz paid a visit to a game as a favor to former teammate Homer Bush Sr. Homer Bush Jr. performed well with Stankiewicz in attendance and earned the offer.
- Chose GCU for "the beautiful state and campus, great coaching, Christian values, and a chance to compete for a College World Series."
- Was a freshman-year roommate of Jacob Wilson, with the room in GCU's Willow Hall hosting two would-be top-100 MLB Draft prospects.
- If he wasn't playing baseball, it'd be football.
- Aims to use platform to encourage more Black baseball players. "One of the things that I'm lucky enough that baseball's provided me with is a platform ... if I could find myself in a role like that for a community, I think that would be awesome."
- Gave soccer a try until he was 9, basketball until he was 14 and football until after being the star running back on his freshman team. Told his parents that he wanted to focus on baseball after freshman year of high school.
- Favorite music artists are Drake and J. Cole.
