WALNUT, Calif. - The Grand Canyon track and field team had another impressive weekend, this time with results from the Mt. SAC Relays and the Mesa Invitational, where two school records were broken.

GCU sophomore
Germain Lemaitre broke the school record for the 800-meter dash while at the Mt. SAC Relays with Lopes senior
Onome Ogbeni breaking the record in shot put at the Mesa Invitational.

Lemaitre's time of 1 minute, 49.26 seconds is the top mark in the WAC.
GCU graduate
Israel Oloyede had a hammer throw mark of 74.84 meters, which comes in as the third-best throw in the country this outdoor season.

In the Mesa Invitational, GCU was led by multiple impressive performances.

Ogbeni's shot put to take the school record was over 52 feet, which sits as the best in the WAC by over 4 feet.

Lopes senior
Dawnielle Lewis had the meet's best collegiate times in the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Lewis' 200 stands out with a mark of 23.82 seconds.

GCU junior
Grant Hagaman won the pole vault competition with a height of 5.22 meters.

In the javelin throw, Lopes sophomore
Matthew Kaitschuck took a mark of 61.86 meters to move to fifth in the WAC.

GCU hopes to finish the regular season with impressive performances against top teams at the Desert Heat Classic in Tucson next Saturday.
