The Grand Canyon track and field team will join a top-tier meet schedule in the 64
th Annual Mt. SAC Relays which will be be held at Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, Calif.

For the Lopes, the meet will run Thursday, April 18 through Saturday, April 20.Â

GCU is coming from a strong weekend in which
Daviciea McCartney took the male WAC track athlete of the week honor after running a 400-meter hurdles time of 50.60 seconds for the school record. The time comes as the top mark in the WAC, the eighth best in the West Region and the 19 in the NCAA. The senior also ran a 110-meter hurdles time of 14.08 seconds which is the second best in the conference.

In addition,
Israel Oloyede threw in the Oklahoma Throws Series where he had was the top collegiate athlete. Oloyede had a hammer throw mark of 71.21 meters which Is the best in the WAC, third in the West Region, and 11 in the NCAA.
The Mt. SAC Relays will not be short on talent as it will include the likes of USC, BYU, California, Colorado, Houston, Illinois, Oregon, Kansas State, Oklahoma, San Diego State, Stanford, Texas, UCLA, UNLV, Utah and Washington.Â
The meet will not be limited to collegiate athletes as it includes some world-class talent.
