Outdoor season kicks off at home this weekend

Men look to win third straight WAC outdoor championship
The Grand Canyon track and field team will begin the outdoor season hosting the GCU Invitational Friday and Saturday.
The Lopes have won a total of eight WAC outdoor championships with the men winning the last two years.
The weekend meet will include the likes of Northern Arizona and Washington State as well as other clubs such as Phoenix Track Club, Pima, and Western New Mexico.
The hammer throw events will take place Friday with the women beginning at 2 p.m. and the men starting around 4 p.m. at Glendale Community College.Â
Saturday's events will start with javelin 11 a.m. and will be followed by the remaining field events all at the GCU Track and Field. The track events will begin at 4 p.m. with the women's 4 x 100 relay kicking things off.
This meet will be the first of two that the Lopes will host this season.
