The GCU track and field team is heading to New Mexico for a second straight weekend of competition, this time in the UNM Team Open on Friday and Saturday.
The Lopes lineup includes multiple athletes from last weekend's trip but will add distance runners, throwers and pole vaulters who competed at Northern Arizona last weekend.
GCU is performing well early in the indoor season, including three school records last weekend.
Coming off winning WAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week, a personal best and a school record, juniorÂ
Keira Christie-Galloway will not compete this weekend.
After setting relay and individual school records, senior
Kyle De Moica will compete for the Lopes alongside relay teammates senior
Bryson Benjamin and graduates Umajesty
Williams and
Calvin Wilson.
Junior
Derrick Nwagwu, a transfer jumper, will make his Lopes debut.
This will be GCU's second of four trips to Albuquerque this indoor season.
The weekend's action will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday.
