The Grand Canyon track and field team hosted its only home meet of the season on Friday and Saturday, breaking three school records.
GCU also honored the 10-year anniversary of its men's indoor track and field team, which won the NCAA Division II national championship for the Lopes' only NCAA national championship. The Lopes also honored senior student-athletes.
The hammer throw began on Friday at Glendale Community College. Senior
Samaria McDonald was the first to break a school record with her mark of 60.46 meters, which broke her own record.
The events shifted to GCU's campus on Saturday afternoon. Two more school records fell throughout the day.

Onome Ogbeni recorded a 15.17-meter throw in the shot put.

Landon Rast ran the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9 minutes, 5.56 seconds.
The Lopes return to Tempe for Arizona State's Sun Angel Classic beginning on Thursday.
