Home opener set for Lopes

The Grand Canyon men's and women's swimming and diving teams are set for their first home meets this Friday and Saturday, hosting Seattle, Loyola Marymount, and San Diego State at the Fr Edward A. Reese Aquatic Center.

Friday's events will take place beginning at 5 p.m. and Saturday will have an 11 a.m. start.

For the women's team, GCU will participate in a quad dual with Seattle U, Loyola Marymount and San Diego State. The last time that the Lopes women's swimming and diving faced these teams was Oct. 23, 2021, in Los Angeles. The meet resulted in a 2-1 record for the weekend with GCU beating Loyola Marymount and Seattle and losing to San Diego State.

The men's swimming and diving team will face off against Seattle. It last competed on Oct. 23, 2021, in Los Angeles, where the Lopes were victorious 162-43.
