GCU continues fall season in Boulder

Lopes coming off back-to-back top-5 finishes

The Grand Canyon men's golf team is looking to build off its consecutive top-five placements when it competes in the two-day, three-round Mark Simpson Invitational at Boulder (Colorado) Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.

The Lopes competed in the Nick Watney Invitational in Kingsburg, California, last week, when they finished fourth out of 16 schools. GCU junior Nicky Kling placed third with a 13-under-par scorecard. Sophomore Josh McCabe and senior Matthew Braley tied for ninth, putting three Lopes in the top 10.

That trio will be joined by fifth-year senior Parker Reddig, junior Craig Passmore and sophomore Sam Murphy in Boulder. Murphy will make his season debut, while Passmore will compete as an individual.

Grand Canyon men's golf competes in day two of the Cowboy Classic at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes golf course in Maricopa, Ariz.
