The Grand Canyon women's golf team heads to its second tournament of the season at the East-West Match Play Challenge, hosted by Wisconsin at University Ridge Golf Course.
The three-day, eight-team event will begin on Sunday with 36 holes of stroke play in Verona, Wisconsin. The best four scores for each five-player team will count toward team standings. Sunday's top four scoring teams will advance to match-play semifinals on Monday with the other four teams going into a match-play consolation bracket.
The match-play format includes each team's five playing competing  in head-to-head individual play. The first team to three points (one point for each individual win) wins the round. Extra holes will be played as necessary. Semifinal winning teams will advance to the championship match on Tuesday, when the other teams also will play head-to-head matchups to vie for third, fifth and seventh places.
GCU will travel six players for the tournament. Junior
Siripatsorn Patchana, senior
Carolina Sandstrom, freshman
Carmen Belmonte, sophomore
Payton Fehringer and junior
Alexis Linam will compete in the team competition while junior
Madison Voisard will make her GCU debut as an individual.
