Lauren Giesecke was selected as the Team USA girls coach for the Toyota Junior Golf World Cup next month in Toyota-shi, Japan.
The June 16-21Â event will include 15 boys teams and nine girls teams competing at Chukyo Golf Club's Ishino Course. Over 70 national teams played events in six countries in order to qualify for the world Junior Golf World Cup.
"I'm honored to have been selected to lead Team USA at the Junior Golf World Championship," Giesecke said. "I'm excited to work with a very talented group of young ladies that have each earned their position on this team. It will be a huge honor to represent our country and compete against some of the top junior golfers in the world."
Giesecke will coach a USA team of three teenage girls with two scores counting. The tournament will be decided over 72 holes with a stroke-play format.
Team USA will be aiming for its third Toyota Junior Golf World Cup title. The Ishino Course is a par-72, Yamada/Pete Dye-designed course. For the girls championship, it will play at 6,130 yards.
