Alexis Vakasiuola finished as the conference's best freshman by national rankings and tied for third at the Mountain West Championship. Now, the Grand Canyon golfer is headed to her first NCAA Regional Tournament.

Vakasiuola was selected by the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee on Wednesday to be one of six individual qualifers who will compete alongside 12 teams at the Ann Arbor Regional. The May 11-13 tournament will be played at University of Michigan Golf Course.
The San Tan Valley, Arizona, native will be the first Lope to compete in an NCAA regional since Siripatsorn Patchana in 2022.
With a program-best 71.8 scoring average, Vakasiuola will now seek to become the first Lope in program history to earn a spot in the NCAA Championship, which will be played May 22-27 in Carlsbad, California.
The regional's top five teams advance to the NCAA Championship along with the lowest-scoring individual who is not a part of an advancing team.
Vakasiuola, a Combs High Schol graduate, began her season as the Mountain West Golfer of the Month for October and earned Mountain West Golfer and Freshman of the Week three times (six total accolades).
