The Grand Canyon men's tennis team was well represented in the WAC weekly awards again by sweeping the men's singles and doubles awards this week.
GCU senior
Lucas Grego earned his second WAC Singles Player of the Week honor while junior
Valentin Lang and freshman
Jakub Novak were named WAC Doubles Players of the Week.
Grego improved to 6-0 on the season with two more straight-set wins on the road last week. Against Belmont's Zak Khan, Grego won 6-2, 7-5, and won 6-1, 6-2, over Lipscomb's Pedro Uribe. Grego now has won four of his six matches in straight sets with all of them coming from the No. 4 position. As a team, GCU has won every match from positions 3-6 in the past three matches.
Lang and Novak played at the No. 2 doubles position last week weekend and picked up 6-4 and 6-1 wins to help the Lopes win the doubles point for the sixth consecutive match. GCU's three doubles teams have been dominant so far this year with records of 5-0 at No. 1 and 4-1 at Nos. 2 and 3.
The Lopes will look to extend their four-match winning streak Sunday at Saint Mary's.
