Freshman finishes fall season perfect in singles
Grand Canyon men's tennis wrapped up the fall season with freshman Julian Mueller earning WAC Singles Player of the Month.
Mueller went 3-0 in singles at the GCU Invitational from Nov. 1-3 at the Paseo Racquet Center. On the first day of the three-day event, Mueller defeated Leyton Bohren of Azusa Pacific 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (9-7) and then defeated Riley Tran of Abilene Christian 7-6, 7-5. On the final day, Mueller defeated ACU's Michael Benavides 6-3, 6-3.
Mueller turned his play up a notch in the final fall events, finishing with a 5-6 record for the third-most wins on the team.
The Lopes will be off until the spring season kicks off in January.
