The Grand Canyon track and field program returns to Albuquerque, N.M., this weekend for the first of two indoor season visits to New Mexico.
The Lopes carry seven WAC top marks into the New Mexico Team Invitational, where they will compete against Arizona State for the second time this season, other Pac-12 programs Washington State and Utah and WAC foe New Mexico State.

Three Lopes took home WAC Athlete of the Week honors this week with
Shanice Lewis,
Chris Linnin Jr., and
Adam Knuff becoming the first GCU track and field athletes to win WAC awards this year.

Knuff holds the top mark in the 200-meter dash after running 21.94 seconds at Air Force last week.

Lewis holds the top mark in the 60-meter hurdles and the long jump after her 8.54 preliminary round time in the 60 hurdles and her 5.82-meter long jump in Colorado last week.

Alexa Hokanson also posted a top mark in the WAC at the Air Force Team Challenge last weekend with an altitude-adjusted time of 2 minutes, 12.64 seconds.

Knowledge Omovoh also holds the top mark in the WAC in the 400 after running 56.62.

Kennedy Quarles also ran the WAC's top mark in the 200 with a personal-record 25.28 time.

The Lopes begin competition at 9:30 a.m. in the Albuquerque Convention Center with the women's weight throw and high jump.
