The Grand Canyon women's golf team heads to the Rose City Collegiate in Aurora, Oregon this week. The Lopes will play at Langdon Farms Golf Club in a tournament hosted by Portland State.Â
Joining the Lopes in the 14-team field is host Portland State, Southern Utah, Eastern Washington, Weber State, Northern Colorado, Nevada, Cal Poly, Montana State, Concordia, Simon Fraser, UTRGV, Idaho State and Western Washington.
On Monday, the teams will play 36 holes with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. On Tuesday, tee times begin at 7:30 a.m. off holes 1 and 10.
Last year Oregon State won the tournament with an 876 total. The individual winner was Marina Edberg of Cal State Fullerton with a 212 (-4) total.
The tournament will be a homecoming for senior
Deanna Salvatori who hails from nearby Salem, Oregon. Last week Salvatori led the Lopes to a fourth-place team finish in the 12-team Hobble Creek Fall Classic. Salvatori finished runner-up with three sub-70 rounds (69-69-69).Â
Last week
Courtney Vogel also had a strong tournament, finishing 12
th.
