FINAL RESULTS
FORT COLLINS – The Grand Canyon men's golf team finished in 12
th-place at the 19-team Ram Masters Invitational, hosted by Colorado State. The Lopes were led by
Vinnie Murphy who finished just outside the top-10 with rounds of 69-70-72.
In addition to Murphy's 12
th-place finish,
Matt McClung finished in 36
th place with rounds of 72-71-75, playing at the No. 4 position for GCU.
The other three Lopes of
Max Sekulic,
TJ Nolan and
Filip Lundell were each playing in their first NCAA DI Collegiate event. Lundell fired rounds of 72-75-76, while Sekulic finished at 74-76-76. Nolan came in at 73-81-75.
Colorado State won the event, playing on its home course, including a tournament record 268 (-12) score in the first round. UMKC was the top finishing WAC school finishing in second place overall. The 12
th-place Lopes edged out 13
th-place Utah Valley.
GCU is back in action at the Northern Intercollegiate on Sept. 24-25 at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill.
