BLAINE, Wash. – The Grand Canyon women's golf team wrapped up Day 2 of the WAC Championship on Saturday afternoon with one player finishing in the top 20.
Amy Ruelas shot a 77 to finish in 20
th place while two other GCU players finished in the top 30. The Lopes have four players participating in the tournament at Semiahmoo Golf and Country Club in Blaine, Washington.
Ruelas ended the first day of competition in 20
th place and shot a +5 on Day 2 of competition to remain in the top 20. She's currently sitting at a 156 with one day remaining in the tournament.
Deanna Salvatori finished in a tie for 21
st place after shooting an 81 for the day.
Kylie Fong shot an 82 to end in a tie for 26
th place. Both Salvatori and Fong finished in the top 20 yesterday and will be looking to return to those rankings on the final day of competition tomorrow.
Charatta Thongbai rounded out the GCU scoring by shooting an 85 and ending in 36
th place.
New Mexico State is currently leading the seven-team tournament after shooting even par on Day 2. Grand Canyon only has four players participating and therefore cannot place in the team standings.
