Jaengkit Wins Third Straight; Team Takes Third

The Grand Canyon women's golf team shot a 16-over 304 today to finish in third place at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird at Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George, Utah. The tournament was hosted by Southern Utah.
GCU finished with a 35-over 611 and were just two shots back of the tournament champion South Dakota State squad (609). Oral Roberts finished in second (610), while first round leader Georgetown slipped to fourth (617).
Charlotte Jaengkit was the individual winner for the third-straight tournament and fifth time this season after finishing her two rounds at 1-over 145. She had a 73 today after an even-par 72 yesterday. Jaengkit was three shots better than her nearest opponent.
GCU's Amy Ruelas finished in a tie for 10th with an 8-over 152, while Kennedie Montoya finished in a tie for 20th with her 12-over 156.
The team will now make the short trip to Primm, Nev. for the Jackrabbit Invitational at the Primm Valley Golf Course. The tournament will be contested from March 16-17. Check www.gculopes.com for the results and recap.
