The Grand Canyon University women’s golf team sits in second place behind St. Edward’s following the first of two rounds at the Grand Canyon Women’s Invitational at the Wigwam Golf Resort's Gold Course in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
St. Edward’s posted a team score of 17-over 305 to hold the top spot, while GCU shot a 22-over 310. CSU East Bay and Sonoma State are tied for third at 24-over 312.
Eryn Olson led the way for the Antelopes with a two-over 74 in the first 18 holes.
Ali Thompson and
Charlotte Jaengkit are tied for 12
th with a one-round total of six-over 78.
Emily Kaye is tied for 22
nd place and
Kelcey Tate is tied for 49
th.
The Grand Canyon ‘B’ team holds the sixth spot following the first round, led by
Julia Shin's seven-over 79 to sit in a tie for 17
th place.
The second and final round will get underway tomorrow at 7 a.m.
