The Grand Canyon University women’s golf team will compete at the Lindsay Olive Chico State Invitational in Chico, Calif. March 19-20.
The first round kicked off with tee times beginning at 9 a.m. this morning at the Canyon Oaks Country Club. Tomorrow’s second round begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
Grand Canyon enters the tournament as the highest ranked team according to the Golfstat NCAA Division II Head-to-Head rankings in the No.10 spot and is currently ranked 20th in the Golfworld/National Golf Coaches Association Top-25 Coaches Poll released March 5.
The Antelopes recently won the Dutch Desert Shootout last Thursday, March 15 at the Wigwam in Litchfield Park, Ariz. GCU finished with an 11-over par 299 in the one round event. Freshman Charlotte Jaengkit was tournament medalist with a one-under par 71.
Grand Canyon currently has three team tournament titles and seven top-three finishes in eight tournaments for the 2011-12 season.
