'Lopes Remain in Fifth

The Grand Canyon University women’s golf team stayed in the fifth place slot after round two of the NCAA Super Regional with a tournament total 635 (+59) in Canyon, Texas.
The ‘Lopes have completed two of the three rounds and remain in fifth. The team carded a 314 today, 26-over-par to hold their position. Tarleton State University is dominating the competition with a tournament total 610 just 15-over-par.
Freshman Tiffany Hewetson (Brighton, England, Longhell) is leading Grand Canyon with a 156 (79-77), 12-over-par. Hewetson is ten strokes back of Tarleton State’s Carla Cooper who carded a two-over-par 146 (73-73).
Junior Brittany Penny (Peoria, AZ, Centennial (Winthrop University)) jumped in the standings after carding a three-over-par 75 today. She is currently tied for 23rd after a 40th spot finish yesterday. Penny is 16-over for the tournament with a 160 total.
The third and final round will be played tomorrow with tee times starting at 10:00 a.m. CDT.
