'Lopes place fourth
CHICO, Calif. -- Senior Jennifer Lutz (Mesa, Ariz./Mesa/Mesa CC) shot a final round 4-over-par 76 and finished third in the InterWest Chico State Invitational at Butte Creek Country Club Tuesday.
Lutz shot an 80 Monday and finished the tournament 12-over-par.
As a team, GCU placed fourth in the 10-team event. The 'Lopes finished with a two-round total of 653. Sonoma State won the event with a 639. Western Washington and CSU-Monterey Bay each shot 648.
For Grand Canyon, Alexandra Malmsjo (Stockholm, Sweden/Saltsjobaden) finished tied for 12th (80-81 -- 161) and Georgina Dunn (Peterborough, England/King's School/New Mexico State) tied for 17th (84-81 -- 165).
Brittany Anderson (Goodyear, Ariz./Estrella Foothills) finished in a tie for 31st (88-86 -- 174) and Jacqueline Sneddon (Meigle, Scotland/Madras College/Elmwood College) tied for 36th (93-83 -- 176).
CrystalFaith Superal of Academy of Art was the individual champion with a 5-over-par 149 (74-75).
