One of six freshmen from outside the state of Arizona in the Lopes' 2015 recruiting class, Kenny Moore joined GCU after a strong finish to his high school career in San Diego. Moore worked his way to a fourth-place finish at the California Interscholastic Federation state tournament as a senior and was a finalist at the Temecula tournament. During the 2014 season, Moore became the first junior from Hoover High School to reach the CIF tournament where he finished in the top 12 with his only losses to the No. 1 and 3 finishers.
