The former professional athlete from Great Britain first represented his country in 2005, running the 800m at the World Youth Championships. He went on to win two British and three English National titles and competed numerous times at World and European Championships.
Brewer’s standout year came in 2009 where he reached the 1500m semi-finals of the World Championships; placed second at the European Under 23 Championships; and ran 3:54 in the mile, his debut over the distance.
After a brief spell as a student-athlete at UC Berkeley, Brewer turned pro in 2011 running first for New Balance and later Brooks.
He was an assistant coach at St Mary’s University - London, helping both men’s and women’s teams to second place finishes at the British Universities Cross Country Championships.
