Brooke Andersen began coaching with the Grand Canyon track and field team in October 2021 serving as a volunteer assistant with the throws team.
Andersen competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games in the hammer throw and placed tenth overall. She was coached by Nathan Ott who is the current throws coach for GCU. In addition to coaching the GCU throws team, Andersen will also use the GCU throwing facility to help her continue training alongside Ott.
In 2019, Andersen competed in the World Championships in hammer and also placed tenth overall. She also threw at the Toyota USATF Indoor Championships, placing sixth that year. She won silver at the 2019 Pan American Games in hammer throw, as well as winning bronze at the 2019 Toyota USATF Outdoor Championships.

A Northern Arizona graduate, Andersen finished her degree in Environmental Science in 2018. During her time at NAU, Anderson won silver at the 2017 and 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships in the hammer throw.

In 2016, Andersen qualified for the Olympic Trials and placed thirteenth in hammer. She also competed at the 2014 USATF Junior (U20) Championships and won silver in the hammer throw.

Andersen attended Rancho Buena Vista high school in her hometown of Vista, California, and played soccer and also competed in track and field during her high school years.Â
