Bio
Post-Graduation Goals: After graduation, I plan to become an elementary teacher, and continue my career with Universal Cheerleaders Association. A long-term goal of mine is to be married and eventually have a family of my own.
Why did you choose GCU? I chose GCU because, when people told me about choosing a college, they said I would get a sense of belonging, and that I was where I was meant to be, and that’s exactly what I felt the day I walked onto GCU’s campus. I also chose Grand Canyon University, because I wanted to choose a school that would give me a strong education for becoming a teacher in the future. Once I made the cheer team that same sense of belonging only grew exponentially, and it was as if God placed me exactly where I was meant to be, and doing exactly what it is that I love the most.
When you are not cheering, where can you be found? When I’m not cheering I can be found spending time with my friends.
Who is the most influential person in your life? The most influential person in my life is my grandmother. She taught me the small things like please and thank you, and the big things like what it means to be an independent, strong, and most importantly kind person. Another person who has had a great influence in my life is Coach Emily. She is hard worker, successful, Christ-loving, driven, is the true definition of what it means to be a woman, mother, and somebody who I aspire to be like now, and in the future.
What is one piece of advice you would give someone who dreams of becoming a GCU Cheerleader? My best advice for someone with the dreams and aspirations of becoming a GCU cheerleader would be to work hard. Work hard on and off the mat, in the gym, and most importantly work on having a positive character. Having a good character is what will separate you from being a mediocre athlete and being an amazing one because at the end of the day you can have taught skill, but you cannot teach character.
Favorite Bible Verse or Quote: One of my favorite bible verses is, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9.
