Bio
Major/Minor: Nursing
Post-Graduation Goals: I plan on receiving my bachelors and master’s degree in nursing in hopes of becoming a nurse practitioner; in addition, I plan on traveling to underprivileged countries to provide medical care to those in need.
Why did you choose GCU? I chose GCU because the environment is filled with positive energy and an amazing faith-based atmosphere. GCU is a great university for nursing students and provides a rigorous curriculum to set me up for a successful future. As a transfer student from ASU, I really admire the small classroom sizes and the enormous amount of support GCU provides for their students. The university makes college obtainable by giving students the financial opportunity and means to receive an education. There are many clubs and opportunities on campus to get involved.
When you are not cheering, where can you be found? You can find me at home with my family, working, hanging out with my friends, “netflixing”, or reading a good book.
Who is the most influential person in your life? The most influential person in my life is my mom. My mother is such a wise and supportive individual. She always pushes me to be my best self and continues to lift my spirits with her unconditional love and support. She is there when I need a shoulder to cry on, advice, or a friend to laugh with. My mother is considered my best friend and I am so blessed and lucky to have her in my life. She teaches my brother and I to treat others with love, support, and continues to mold us into the strong individuals we are today.
What is one piece of advice you would give someone who dreams of becoming a GCU Cheerleader? My best advice would be to be yourself. The GCU cheer program takes a lot of pride in those they choose to represent GCU. Character is one of the main aspects of the program; therefore, be prepared to be yourself, confident, and willing to learn and grow as a person. Over all, have fun, meet new people, and enjoy every moment of the experience.
Fun Fact: I’m a coffee addict and a nature junkie.
Favorite Bible Verse or Quote: “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed (Isaiah 53:5)”.
