WALNUT, Calif. — Grand Canyon track and field ended its weekend with momentum at the 65th Annual Mt. SAC Relays, posting 10 marks that rank among the top 10 in the WAC and one that cracked the NCAA Division I top 20, including two school records.
The men's 4x400-meter relay team of graduate
Daviciea McCartney, senior
Cam Wilmington, junior
Ben Stratman and senior
Joshua Gittens surged to a time of 3 minutes, 4.38 seconds, setting a GCU program record, capturing the No. 1 spot in the WAC and ranking No. 20 nationally. The relay team broke GCU's previous school record of 3:06.73 that was set just a few weeks ago at the Texas Relays by three of the same runners. This season, GCU's record in the event has dropped by 2.45 seconds.
