The Grand Canyon women's tennis season concluded after another run to the NCAA tournament, but the phenomenal collegiate career of graduate
Natasha Puehse is not quite over.
Â

Puehse, the Lopes' No. 1 singles player, will be the first GCU player to take part in the NCAA Women's Singles Championship, a 64-player, single-elimination bracket that starts Monday and runs six days in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on the campus of Oklahoma State.
Puehse's first-round matchup in the round of 64 will take place Monday at 4:30 p.m. (Phoenix time) against Texas A&M sophomore MIa Kurpres, a Canadian with a 21-9 record and No. 45 national ranking. The winner will play a second-round match Tuesday against the Monday winner of North Carolina's Reilly Tran vs. Stanford's Connie Ma.
Â
Puehse holds the GCU record for career singles wins at 66, an impressive feat as the Lopes' No. 1 for the last four seasons of her five-year career. She was in the No. 2 position during her freshman season in 2019-2020.
Â
"Over the past five years, she has not only built a strong legacy here but has also exemplified what it means to be a true student-athlete," GCU head coach
Katarina Adamovic said.Â
Â
This season, Puehse went 18-2 overall and 5-2 in WAC play, earning her third WAC Player of the Year award and fourth All-WAC first-team singles honor.
Â
"This tournament is a culmination of all her efforts, and we are thrilled to see her compete at the highest level of college tennis," Adamovic said. "We couldn't be prouder of Tash and look forward to watching her shine on this prestigious stage."
Â
Fans can watch the winningest singles player in GCU women's tennis history in the NCAA tournament, as she competes for the final time as a Lope. Matches will be available to watch on
